    Hard drive making rattling sound
    « on: February 17, 2011, 12:24:17 PM »
I suspect it's time to to replace this noisy hard drive. When I got my first computer, WIN 98 a guy that got it for me made a clone of the hard drive for another computer (now I believe that was illegal).  Today, I have a noisy HDD that I believe will no out at any moment. Can someone help me with such a cloning process? can a bootable copy be made? so that not only the OS remains, but, also software and files, I have Win XP Pro installed.

You can use any disk imaging / cloning software. Macrium Reflect is a free option.
