nvidia graphics card stopped being recognised!
« on: February 23, 2011, 05:31:39 AM »
I purchased a desktop from ebay with the asus m4a78lt-m motherbaord in it and an nvidia gt240 graphics card, fo the first 6 months i had no problem but then the graphics card stopped being recognised preventing me from completing vital final year project work for university degree. I attempted to reinstall the drivers from the disc and update everything possible, yet nothing worked, when trying to update the driver it says "this graphics driver could not find compatible hardware". I attempted to contact nvidia but they state on their website to contact the motherboard maker for technical help, yet asus were no help and didnt reply.

ANYONE WITH SUGGESTS PLEASE HELP IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE, IM DESPERATE TO FIX IT!

Greetings, [email protected].

Have you tried uninstalling the GT240 and using motherboard graphics, at least for troubleshooting and/or a temporary fix?

It's my understanding that the  M4A78LT-M comes with ATI Radeon 3000 onboard.

Unplug all power sources and remove and re-seat the vid card.

[email protected], Welcome to the CH forums. Noting your moniker if this is as it appears to be your e-mail address on the btinternet e-mail service you may wish to rethink that as potentially it opens up the possibility of all kinds of problems (for you) that you may regret. truenorth
