win xp error message

good afternoon people, can someone please help with this error msg i find when i boot my pc: error loading c:\WINDOWS\ecueci.dll.

I've never seen that file name before, but I'm guessing you started getting that message shortly after installing some software. You can download & run Startup Control Panel and uncheck any app that looks like it may be related to that message. Then reboot and see what happens.

The spelling must be wrong as there is no .dll by the name...

Then it probably is malware since it's not a registered known dll...
