Can't connect to the internet
« on: March 09, 2011, 07:57:07 PM »
I just brought over my computer from my dads house and I set it up at my moms apartment, but when I tried connection it finds the network and connects with Limited Connectivity.

I tried going into cmd and typing ipconfig/release and /renew but when I did that it comes up with the error: "unable to contact your DHCP server. Request has timed out."

I went and looked at the connection properties and it says that both auto IP and DHCP are enabled. I have no idea how to solve this problem and help would be much apprieciated. :|

Edit: I'm on Vista home premium

Sounds like your mom's router might not be dishing out DHCP addresses.

It might be worth having a look on the settings of another machine in her house.
