    Administration Problem, HELP!
    « on: March 22, 2011, 07:08:06 PM »
I got this new computer, which recently belonged to someone else. I logged into the main account (with the password) and used admin permission to delete it. This is so I could start my own administrator account. I meant to switch users, but I accidentally logged out. It replaced the main account with an account named "Administrator", but the password won't work for it.... HELP?!  :'(

I don't really think there is much information you need. I am using XP Home Edition though, I'm quite sure.

Have you tried leaving the password blank?

I rebooted and the Administrator account disappeared. Now I have no clue where to even type a password into...  :-X

It may have a hidden recovery partition ...have you checked the Manual ? ?
Ordering 1 from the manuf. for a small fee may be another option to consider.

I don't have a manual or anything. I just have the computer and its charger.
I don't think I will be allowed to order anything, even if I'd pay for it.
I know a lot about computers, but I still am only a kid. So I have limitations.

Download the file boot CD from here: http://www.pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/

And burn the ISO to a CD using whatever CD burner you like. After it's done burning, restart the computer with the disk in and boot from it. You may need to change the boot order in your BIOS. Be careful, and pay attention to the instructions when you boot the CD. It will clear the password for the account.
