Help: System Registration has stopped working

I installed avast and uninstalled McAfee. 

Got the subject message

Problem event name   APPCRASH 

Application Name  prodreg.exe


I did a system restore back to prior to installing avast and the message still comes up

How do I get this window to not come up on start up

I had also installed comodo firewall   

Went back to a reset point prior to that and I no longer get the message

What do you mean you get a "subject message"? When do you see that "message"?
