Still Life
« on: August 19, 2005, 11:03:24 AM »
I have win xp, 1200mhz, 120gb, p3, 512mb. I installed a game called Still Life and when i try to play it a screen comes up saying i have to enter a disc key, but there is not a disc key to be found. I read somewhere else that somebody else had the same problem and all they did was hit exit and the game worked, but that did not work for me. Please help me out anybody.

A serial number, product number, product key, etc, etc?

You should not download illegal software. Naughty you.

Somewhere on the packaging, usually the CD case itself, you should find a series of numbers and letters, kind of like a serial number. This is your CD key to unlock the game. It's a standard security feature.

It has to be there somewhere. If not, take it back.

I can help you with this. You see, I have a bad habit of losing CD Keys myself. It's easy to get them back... If you want info., PM me... And yes, it's legal to do, becuase I already bought the CDs.

If the serial number is nowhere to be found. (Assuming it is not another type of error) return the product.

As for Flame's comment - stop peddling serial numbers. I know you're doing it.

Actually Raptor, these are legal. I will not distribute any serial numbers. All you must do is use Windows Explorer on the CD... Somewhere on the CD there is usually a .txt document stating the serial number. I have never used a fake/illegal serial before, nor do I ever intend to. However, I can understand why you might think that I would distribute such a number, becuase I said PM me, and I did not just give the instructions on my post. (No PMs yet)  My apologies for the confusion.  :)

To me it sounds like you are allready living in a cave! Nothing else can explain your pathetic attempts at writing English.

What is this *censored* about being honest and open? Just do not post Warez, it has nothing to do with being honest. It was no slip of the tongue, you did not ask for forgiveness. You did it on purpose, you're trying to sabotage this forum by introducing your filth.

Why you reply? Because you're guilty as charged. I don't care that you have no respect for rules and regulations but don't think you're helping by trying to have others to break 'm as well.

Remove your Warez URL. It's one of many mistakes you've made, don't give my any crap about answering to anyone, I don't care that you think you're such as rebelious bus driver. No one does.

I need medical help? You think you talk plain English? Were you dropped on the head at birth or did something heavy hit it when you were young? Like a train or a freight truck?

No such word in the dictionary. Also, >> are not valid writing marks. Neither is --- or any other variant of *censored*

Merlin, you might want to heed Raptor's advice and remove this post. I doubt the Administrator would consider encouraging people to commit piracy, and providing them with the means to do so, to be in line with forum policy.

This is just my 2 1/2 cents here, but here goes... I can see where the URL is wrong, but for most applications etc., those don't even work... Now some program that you download (torrent, pirated application) is sure to work... Usually for these programs especially games, you need to have the exact code that matches the CD, or install file... However, don't egt me wrong, I have mixed feelings about the URL. I see both sides, and can understand... But I don't want to get in the way by taking a side.

Due respect, Flame, but that's hardly the point. This site exists for one reason - to allow users to run unauthorized software. Is that what we're encouraging now?

As I said earlier. I see and understand both sides. I just don't want to take a side on this. On one hand it's a worthless link, and on the other it's the concept of what the link is... It's a bit of a difficult call to make...

moving the game completely, even from the registry if it has been partially installed.

Then try installing it from a different CD-ROM drive if present.
