    I have win 7 home and I dont know how to un install  win media player

    the one that comes with win 7

    I know in win xp you go to ad remove programs
    and on the side  wAS THE  WIN COMPONENTS

    Why do you want to uninstall it?  Just because it's there doesn't mean you have to use it.

      Well I have media monkey to play my audio CDs  and even when I  asseate the CD with  media monkey to audo play it worksd  then  next time it asks for a program to play it.

      Is there a way then to turn off win 7 media player?

        Open control panel.  Click either uninstall a program under Programs (in category view) or Programs and Features (large/small icon view).  On the right, click "Turn Windows features on or off".  In the popup window, click the + sign next to Media Features.  Un-check the box by Windows Media Player and click OK.
