    Computer freeze in sleep mode
    « on: May 06, 2011, 10:19:54 AM »
I looked and this may have been covered before but I did not see it.

When I let my computer sit for several minutes the screensaver will come on and then after another few minutes the computer goes into sleep, When I move the mouse or hit a button to bring it awake, it goes to a black screen or background art and the only way to fix it is reset the computer. I have also tried bringing it awake with the power button but it is a 50/50 chance of working or getting the above mentioned screens.

    Any thoughts??

The first thing is to disable or change screensaver displayed and also close other/all programs running or open then check sleep mode. Also check your power options settings.

If this is a desktop, there is no reason whatsoever to use any power saving features.
