Absolute Software Corp's malware: rpccm.exe
« on: May 14, 2011, 11:29:28 AM »
Hi all:  I've just found I have the rpccm.exe spyware SW embedded on my laptop somewhere.  I can't locate the file--used all
my experience with DOS commands but still can't find it even when requesting show hidden files.

The spyware also adds it to my Registry. I can turn it off (unclick) but when I re-boot, the spyware info is "on again."  To work
on my laptop I have to uncheck the listings in the Registry and reboot.  I can work until I turn off my laptop but after
the reboot the items are again checked.

Also I have ESET security software running, but it did NOT catch this spyware!  As such, I cannot download programs that
profess to rid the malware because it cannot work with ESET.  I will certainly be giving ESET a piece of my mind.

Anyway, any help and/or advice with this problem?

Thanks,

plmnji
