Cannot start Windows 98 in normal mode

I cannot start Windows 98 in normal mode. It will only boot up in safe mode. If I try to start in normal mode it freezes up during the boot.

Thanks for the link, but 98 is booting into safe mode as evidenced by Safe Mode in the two corners. I kept clicking on other links from the original one you posted, but am unable to find information on how to resolve my problem.

ok..reboot pc and start window by using the  step by step option  and answer yes to all the questions it ask you.... and post back if you can..if you have a problem..
