Clean install problem with Windows 7
« on: June 05, 2011, 01:04:18 AM »
I'm trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate on a desktop.
I've installed Windows 7 a number of times before for others with no problems. This time it goes through to the pretty blue screen with the bird, (feathered variety) and leafy branch, but the install window doesn't appear. Instead I just get a low resolution mouse arrow and....nothing else.
Does anyone know what to do??

It could be the Optical drive...
Swap in another and try.
Also check and see how many RAM sticks are in...if it's over 2G i have seen reports of issues installing although that was mostly with Vista 7 may do the same thing...
The extra RAM can simply be added after the install is completed.
