    The CPU is the bottleneck.

It is slightly better than an Athlon II X4 555, and you can get an Athlon II X4 631 for $80.
Its single-threaded performance isn't that good either-the Intel Core i3-2100 shows some big gains in gaming:

I imagine that you would also want a chassis to protect all your expensive parts, no?  ;)

      That's a nice looking case :)
      http://www.anandtech.com/show/4955/the-bulldozer-review-amd-fx8150-tested/11
The Bulldozer series does not perform well in single-threaded applications-you could justify the price tag if you were to run, say, server applications, multi-threaded video encoding, virtual machines, etc. In fact it lags behind the Phenom II X4 970 in some cases. But you say you want to have "whatever game I throw at it run at ultra settings." You would be far more justified getting the i5 2500K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072 which is $40 cheaper than the FX-8150.
Here's a Z68 chipset motherboard with the same price tag as your AMD one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157279
