Drive D shows full .
« on: June 21, 2011, 02:44:20 PM »
My backup drive shows to be full. I have an  external backup. How do I get the icon at the bottom of screen to stop coming on,  "full drive d"?

To Disable Low Disk Warning:

Open regedit & to navigate to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

On the Edit menu, add a New DWORD value name of NoLowDiskSpaceChecks

Set the data value to 1

Exit the registry editor and restart your computer.

Great instructions, Allan. I would recommend, however, to backup the registry before editing it, in case something goes amiss. Just go to file<export in Regedit and save the backup on the desktop (or wherever.)

I think this is a Win 7 system using a back-up hard drive or what do you mean when you say...

Are these 2 physical backup drives for your system? And you want to use another external drive ? A backup drive can be internal or external. Its just a matter of time for your current backup drive becomes full, so you might wanna check on that first.
