    Buying new hardware
    « on: June 22, 2011, 04:38:27 PM »
I have recently retired & for extra money I build & repair computers. I would like to know the best place to buy hardware as prices vary so much.

Would you like to import from the far east? The lowest prices are on no name or white label hardware are from the pacific rim area. You can go into the eBay forums and find out how the vendors get there stuff from overseas. Some of the wholesalers may let you buy in small quantities.

As with everything you can't bet after sales support. You may save say 20% on an item but if you have to wear the cost of warrantee or have to send it back to an online seller there goes any money that you make out of the sale. Find a local wholesaler or a computer retailer that will back you up 100% and give you a reasonable price. Then make your money out of the support and training and build a business on amazing quality and service not price. Remember there is 2 things a customer forgets, how much they paid and how long they have had the item. But they never forget long waits to have something replaced or poor service.
