This is the issueL
Quote
"BootMGR is missing"
The BIOS does detect your HDD, so it is not missing or defective.
Something happened to alter the system.
Just how did you change the CPU?
Do you have a 'Live' CD that can loot athlete system for you?
You did not say what OS you are using.

Suppose it is Windows 7. You should have made a Windows 7 recovery disc when you first got the machine. Have you tried it?
Or, if you have a Windows 7 install disc, boot it up and look for:
“Repair your computer” in a menu item. Read the instructions.
Does this help any?  Questions?

I have no os since it is a build computer which was working well for the drives anyway till  now.
The cpu got change no different than i did las time.

Place the new CPU into the computer's CPU socket, making sure that it fits into the socket easily or adjusting its orientation until it goes into place. Close the CPU cover then secure the CPU with the locking lever on the socket.

Wipe the top of the CPU clean using a cotton ball and small amount of thermal paste remover. Apply a small bead of thermal paste to the top of the CPU, then lower the heat sink into place so that the thermal paste is pressed between the top of the CPU and the plate on the bottom of the heat sink. Secure the heat sink using its screws or clips, then plug in the fan.

Thanks :)

That message is from either a Vista or Windows 7 boot loader.
If it was from Windows XP it would say 'NTLDR is missing.'

You can use a Linux distro to test and install to the HDD.
If the HDD is mostly good, Linux can install.
Look here:
The live CD Lisst
You will need a CD ISO burner. Here is another list.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_ISO_image_software

To my knowledge, not of these will harm your computer. They are virus free.

OK.
Let;s start over.
Why did you change the CPU?
Was the old one not working?
Did you go into the BIOS and set the defaults for 'fail-safe' or 'best' performance?
Does the BIOS post any error messages?
Se the boot border to try CD drive first, then the hard drive.
The Linux CD should give some kind of message other than:
"BootMGR is missing"
Which is from the damaged Windows OS.

1. Why did you change the CPU?
I had Intel Core 2 Duo E7600 3.06GHz which didn't support the motherboard unless I update the bios
which is great for certain games that support it but couldn't get the OS install to update it. I need a good computer to get to this website to download a bios update and this pc i have now sucks.
so I went back tothe old cpu.

2.Was the old one not working? no
3.Did you go into the BIOS and set the defaults for 'fail-safe' or 'best' performance?no
4.Does the BIOS post any error messages? no
5.Se the boot border to try CD drive first, then the hard drive.
The Linux CD should give some kind of message other than:
"BootMGR is missing" still nothing
Which is from the damaged Windows OS. Maybe or a *censored* CD/dvd rom

 :P :P :P :P :P :P

Thanks
