processor damage?

while installing my new processor i had to put about 10-20 pounds of pressure on my cooling unit in order it to fit, which sits on top of my processor. also the clip on my motherboard squeezes it very tight, and i was wondering if it could receive any permanent damage from this :/ thanks

They need a lot of pressure on the cooler to achieve good thermal contact. If it is working OK just forget it.
