    « on: July 27, 2011, 10:43:01 PM »
When tried to run sfc /scannow from windows recovery disc in command prompt. I got a message saying windows resource protection could not start the process. Why is it happening? I have windows vista ultimate 32 bit operating system. When i started this from within windows it could find some corrupt files but could not repair them. When i boot from the disc it cannot start the scan. I have dep on only for essenstial windows programs.enstial windows programs.

      Try it with DEP off...
There is a space between the command and the  /switch...
