problems with burned dvds

am having a problem with burned dvds skipping and freezing, just bought a new lite-on thinking that was the issue but am still having the problem can anyone help me to figure out what the problem is

The major problem is the quality of the DVDs you use.
Another issue is the software you use. And the options you select.

You can search for Free DVD burner software.
On look at this:
http://gofree.com
Look for 'DVD Burning Software' and see what they have.
But if you don't like it, try another place.

A lot of the time it's the drive itself is the problem. From my experience, you can't beat Plextor for burning discs - hence they are slightly more expensive than other brands.

That goes equally for their Drives, too.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
