When I downloaded/installed Everest Home Edition I got and error message shown in the attached image although Everest seems to work fine. How do I make Vista accept non-digitally signed drivers that I trust?
This is on my HP 6715b in specs, Vista Business x64

To be on the safe side, reckon the download was ruined by some kind of malicious software. Perhaps on your system.
Ask a friend to download it and see if he gets the same thing.

EDIT:

Just did download from the majorgeeks. Works on both XP and Vista. Scanned with Avast and no threat found.

You have malware. Or a bad download.

I uninstalled it and tried the download/install again with the same result. No malicious software found with AVG, Malwarebytes or SAS. This may have something to do with the extra security features Vista Business has.
Seems like I remember having this issue sometime in the past but I don't know if it was with Everest or not. I'll do some searching to see if I can find that info.

You do understand that Everest is no longer supported, and not been so for quite a long time, hence no digital signature?  This app is a lot better & supports Win7-64bit:  http://www.hwinfo.com/download64.html

If the latest version doesn't give all the info, try the beta, he works on it every day, and does a full release about every month.

Excellent!!! It gives plenty of information, some of which Everest 'Home' Edition did not.
And no problem with drivers not digitally signed.  ;)

thanks CC !

The desktop Gadget is handy.  Gadgets are for Vista & Win7.

CC It seems to ONLY be available for 64 bit systems. Any known alternatives for 32 bit? truenorth
