    What does compressing a drive do? Is it worth it... what are the pro's and con's??

    compressing a drive works fine in a non-system partition. Its save disk space. I tried compressing my system partition sometime back and had to re-format the machine. In as much as it saves disk space, i wouldn't recommend it. Make use of the space available; you can always get a larger drive or better yet use a backup drive. hope that was hwlpful
