Computer will not start properly following PC restore
    « on: September 05, 2011, 04:24:18 AM »
Dell Dimension 3000 running windows xp service pack 3. Completed a PC restore to factory settings which appeared successful. On start up I am left with the message
Loading PBR for descriptor 1 done
    Loading DRMK Ver 8.00
followed buy a flashing cursor and black screen.

Before the PC restore windows would not start up, but I could start up with safe mode and with networking. I could then restore to a previous date shut down normally saving settings, but on the next start up same again windows would not fully start up.
I have no discs of any sort, none provided.

I have access to a laptop but would like to get the desktop working again.
