    dell running windows 7 the wifi button on the side will not turn , is there any other way to do this please help????

      the switch does not work anymore  has been tempormental for awhile , but does not work at all now is there any other way to bypass it so it will just stay on all the time

      Not unless you want to open it up & add a bypass wire by soldering across the switch.  I'm thinking , NOT, or you wouldn't be asking.

      Is the switch loose or does it still click back and forth like it should?

          no it just keeps saying turn wifi on  when u diagnose the problem it says wifi not turned on please enable

          In many laptops, the wifi component is actually a rather small piece not integrated into the motherboard. It's usually about 1 1/2 inches square, and is connected to the motherboard by a couple of wires. It's possible these wires are loose or broken.

          Check in the device manager and see if the wifi adapter is still listed. Don't confuse it with the listing for the on-board LAN, that's a separate listing in the device manager.

          You will notice a solid light beside the wireless icon when switch is ON. Did you happen to upgrade your inspiron 1525 from vista to win 7? Did wireless worked on your win 7 system or before in vista?

          I work on a neighbor's 1525 from time to time.  Got the pic from the online Manual.

          To OP:  is the WiFi status light on?
