no connection to NAS

Ever since I used the internet at school I can not connect to the home network and most importantly the NAS. I've tried troubleshooting and it suggests to solve the problems manualy, which is not very helpfull. Does anyone have an idea as to what I can do about this?

I suspect you've had an IP address assigned manually.  What operating system are you using?  Wireless or wired?

I'm using windows 7 and I'm wireless connected to the internet.

Perhaps your wireless settings are still trying to connect to the wireless network at your school. I assume you connected wirelessly to your school?

I would suggest you go into your wireless settings & remove your school's network from its history.

thank you for your suggestion but it didn't work. I removed it like you suggested and even restarted the computer but it didn't work.

Okay, good.  Do you happen to know the IP address of any devices on your home network (e.g. the NAS)?  How would your normally connect to the NAS?

And by any chance has anyone switched on the feature on your router where wireless connections are split into a separate virtual LAN?

Yes I know the IP-adress and I can access it when I type it into internet explorer, however if I want to access files I have to download them first. I used to be able to access the files via our home network but I can't anymore when I troubleshoot problems it says that the networkconnection is unavailable. I can access it using any other computer at home accept for mine.
No one has purposefully changed any of the networksettings or the settings of the device.

When you say "via our home network" I presume you mean using Windows Explorer?  Try loading up Windows Explorer and type in two backwards slashes, followed by the NAS IP address - e.g. \\192.168.1.10

Yes, all you're doing is browsing the files via Windows Explorer, whichever route you choose to get there.  So try my suggestion above.  And be clear about doing this in Windows Explorer, not Internet Explorer.  Report back your results.

When I type it in windows explorer it opens internet explorer and than it opens the ethernet site of the device.
It does not open the folder I want so I can work with the files.

my father thinks it might have something to do with the homegroup I'm connected to because I can't connect to other computers in the network either. I've tried to create a new homegroup but that had no effect.
