Vista Screen saver shuts off after a few minutes.
« on: October 03, 2011, 11:07:49 AM »
I'm having trouble with My HP Pavilion HP6116f , AMD X2 - 64 Bit processor with 8 gig of DDR ram with Vista Home premium 64 bit  having the screen saver turn off after a short time on It's own. Is there some way to find what is toggling it off?

3 Things to check...

E-mail app

Anti-virus

Windows updates...
All 3 of these if triggered or scheduled in the background will interrupt the screensaver.

Also, a drifting mouse cursor will do this. Since this is a desktop HP, without touching the mouse, look at the cursor and see if it's drifting slightly.

You may also check power settings for something that says "Turn off backlight" or "Turn off screen".
