    Black Screen At Boot-Up...
    « on: October 03, 2011, 06:53:51 PM »
I own an ASUS Eee 1018B: OS 7 Starter.

After turning on the computer I only get a black screen with a flashing underscore at the top left. Help!

Is it possible to access the recovery partition at boot with the F9 key?

Absolutely nothing happened prior. The screen just appeared black one day. It never has been dropped or anything. I take good care of my computers.

I tried the F9 at boot up, nothing.

        Can you boot to USB?

normally black screen occur in hardware failure ( or ) non-supportive hardware

have you recently installed any new hardware ? let me know

and do one thing remove all usb connectors from motherboard

take out the BIOS battery ( cr2032 mostly )

and place it again so the bios will be reset

          i hope it helps

First of all check the brightness(back light) by hold the Fn key and continuosly press the up arrow key to increase d light,if nothing happened, try connect it to external monitor(if its laptop) and if the monitor dispayed properly change the screen.
