Error 0x00000044 - windows xp

I have a few problems with my Windows XP Pro SP3....don't know where to start really...

1. I have acquired some kind of virus/spyware, when I open Firefox my home page is 'http://www.searchqu.com/' - it has also put on a new task bar in Firefox and I want to get rid of it (the only way I think I could of got this spyware is off a site called 'sendspace.com'. A large file was sent to me and I clicked on a  button 'download' which then installed some kind of video viewer on my computer, but at the same time I am assuming that 'searchqu.com' was installed?

2. Tried to run Super Anti Spy - but after about 1 minute I get a blue screen error 0X00000044 Multiple IRP Complete Requests message

What should I do?

I can't get past step 3 - when I try to run Super Anti Spy, after about 10 seconds I get a blue screen stop error message 0x00000044
