    pc running slugish. help
    « on: October 27, 2011, 07:26:46 PM »
    Well.  first off

    i am running win7 64, fire fox 7.?, i use microsoft essentials/wins7 firewall, AMD 955 3.2 ghz, 4gb ram, 700gb hard drive space left

about 1-2 weeks ago i notice my pc started running sluggish. examples scrolling, typing, some videos, ect,  I haven't changed/ downloaded nothing about my pc before this. I downloaded CCleaner and ran it it helped a bit but it tends to go back to it after doing my daily internet surfing.  I ran essentials it found no harmful files. I tried disk clean up, disk defrag also.

Not sure what else to try. Any ideals?

    Thank you

There are chances that you might be infected. Download free MBAM and Superantipsyware and install. Perform a complete scan on each application after updating to its latest definition.

Let's take a look at your entire system...

Please download the latest version of Kaspersky GetSystemInfo (GSI) from Kaspersky and save it to your Desktop.

Note: please close all other applications running on your system.

Double click GetSystemInfo.exe to open it. It will display an agreement. Click on I Agree to continue.

    Click the Settings button.

    Set the slider to Maximum.

IMPORTANT! Then, click Customize - choose Driver / Ports tab and uncheck Scan Ports.

On the General tab, make sure all of the boxes are checked.

On the Misc tab, make sure all the checkboxes are checked.

Then, click OK on the windows that you launched.

Click Create Report to run it.

    It will begin scanning.

It will create a zip folder called GetSystemInfo_XXXXXXXXXXXXXX.zip on your Desktop.

It should automatically upload it to http://www.getsysteminfo.com. If it does not, then please submit it manually by going to the site and doing the upload process.

It will redirect to a page, where it will provide a sharing URL for specialists. Copy and paste the url of the GSI Parser report in your next reply.

Have you thought of overclocking your CPU?

Your CPU is capable of 3.2 GHz, and yours is running at 2.08 GHz... :P
