Small Business Network Setup
« on: November 04, 2011, 07:57:44 AM »
Good Morning!
I am trying to setup a small network for my office.  I have a program where the database is on the main computer at reception desk and I can instll it on the other 2 computers as a networked version, but I first need to setup the network.

Here is the architecture lay out:

1 Desktop (wired connection) – Windows XP – This is the main machine
1 Desktop (wired connection) – Windows 7
1 Laptop (wireless connection) – Windows XP

I have the wireless connection all setup and can get out to the internet on all machines, but need a step by step on how to setup and network.

I would also like to create a shared folder if it is possible, and again would need step by step on that.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
