New Computer Will Not Connect to Internet Explorer

First time out of the box I turn the unit on...it does the following:

1.  Windows Error Recovery Screen comes on- start as normal selected

2.  "Setup is Preparing Your Computer for First Use" message comes up.

3.  System Preparation Tool 3.14 appears on the screen
     System Clean Up Action- Enter System Out of Box Experience selected
     Once I click "ok" I get the following message:  "A fatal error occurred
while trying to        sysprep the machine"

The Windows screen with the icons is showing.  I click on Internet Explorer and
it will not connect or respond.

I'd return it to the store and get another vs try to fix a system broken from factory.

It's a refurb...returning is not so easy.  Need to fix it if at all possible.

What computer model and OS is the refurbish item? Do you see any network icon stating that you are connected? Did you connect the cables correctly to router?

Did it come with recovery disks? Can you do a Startup Repair/Repair Install? Can you boot to safe mode?

Maybe try a reset of internet explorer?
