what kind of JAVA do i need?
    « on: December 02, 2011, 07:39:03 PM »
okay my last post didnt get any replies... so this is an update to the same problem.

i am getting a message window telling me ----->"name of app" could not load the Java Runtime Environment.
Please download and install a newer version at www.java.com.

ive been there and tried several times with no luck. instead i get a message during the installation of the java download telling me ---->  windows installer could not open, blah blah. please contact the vendor and verify that the file is genuine.

Soooo, separately with both browsers, Firefox & IE i had the JAVA website scan my computer to tell me what version of Java i am using. it said i dont have any working java and to get the latest version by clicking below.

back to the 2nd paragraph all over again.  it downloads but cant open and install.

GGRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!  your help is really needed.  thank you in advance.

      Hi Kimberley.

Please down and re-install the Windows Installer http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?DisplayLang=en&id=25 (its the last orange box on that page)

You may need to restart (not exactly sure)

Next, go to Java and update again: http://java.com/en/download/installed.jsp?detect=jre&try=1

Note: latest Java Version 6 Update 29
