Either Norton was terribly outdated or it didn't do a good job.
Either way, I would uninstall Norton and stick with AVG Free.
Lets concentrate on the problem at hand:
then i tried to change my resolutions again ...but still no luck
Very unfortunate.
We can simply force the computer to reinstall the drivers. (Keep the Windows 98CD ready!)
1. Go to the Device Mananger
2. Right click on your video card
3. Select
remove4. Restart the computer
5. Windows will now let you know that new hardware has been added.
If it does not automatically install the videocard, tell it to search under either
C:\Windows\system32 or
D:\Win98Assuming that D: is your CD-ROM drive.
You might also be able to find the drivers under the driver list that Windows offers.
Exhaust these options first before installing the drivers I recommended earlier on.
