Every drive needs to be formatted
    « on: December 02, 2011, 01:19:45 PM »
After having some malware attacks ( removed by anti malware bytes) It seems now that every USB I put into my computer comes up as saying I Need to format the drive before I Can use it. But when I put it into my brothers computer (Windows XP) It works fine. It was working fine before the malware attacks. Does anyone have an idea of what I can do? In computer management, I can see the drive and how much gb it is, but when I go to properties/my computer it wont let me in

      Agreed.
Malwarebytes is not enough on its own to confirm you are clean.

You should create a new Topic in Computer viruses and spyware forum http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/board,7.0.html

Once confirmed 'clean', if you still have the same issues, please reply back to this topic with the word 'Bump' and 'Windows is now clean'.

When I also used bit defender to scan it it says no infections, anti malware bytes no infections, spyware doctor no infections..

This is a shot in the dark, but if I had to guess I'd say maybe the FAT File-System driver was infected and thus deleted by "cleaning".

In either case, I would run an SFC /SCANNOW from the Run... dialog.
I was trying to dereference Null Pointers before it was cool.
