Replacing LCD Screen
« on: December 03, 2011, 05:06:23 PM »
Hello!

I am fairly experienced with computers and have reformatted numerous laptops and desktops, but I have never had to deal with a cracked screen before.  My parents have a Toshiba Satellite A305 laptop with a 15.4" WXGA LCD Screen with a CCFL Single Bulb backlight.  I am hoping to be able to fix their computer for them but am wondering about the compatibility of laptop screens.

Do I have to purchase one that is specifically made for this brand and model of computer or can I purchase any LCD with comparable specs?

Thank you for your assistance!

I found a nice step-by-step video tutorial on replacing the screen:

You might want to follow this guide in selecting replacement screens for a laptop:
