I just got Kingsoft Office Suite and it works good.

And I did have OpenOffice and I did not like it the one thing was if I whent full screen all my pages in the Document would show up on the same screen side by side.

And it had a lot of other things I did not like.

So Kingsoft Writer is working out good but one thing.
When I go to save something as a .DOC File it says

a .doc file can be opened with Microsoft Word 2010(which I have) on Windows 7 Ultimate(which I also have) without issues.

The .doc format first came out in Word 97.

how many types of Documents can Kingsoft Writer open??

You can go to the "Open" dialog on Kingsoft Writer and you should be able to see the filetypes allowed.

Of course, they will be able open it IF they have Microsoft Office installed or they have some other software such as OpenOffice that will recognize the .DOC format.  Otherwise, they will not be able to open a .DOC file.
