Email in Outbox

When I send an email, it goes but remains in the outbox and gets resent each time I send another email.  It does not move to the sent box.  I also get an error message, but it is blank.  Using Outlook Express and Windows XP.

How long have you used Outlook Express?
If you have a hard time with it, switch to something else.

For example, get the Opera browser with an e-mail client built-in. You can make the  default e-mail program.

GEB44, do you periodically delete old files from the Sent folder?  It may be a storage issue causing the problem.  If you don't want to delete the old Sent mail copies, make a New Folder and move them to it to free up space in the Sent folder.

I'd endorse this.  Outlook Express struggles with large storage files (that accumulate over time).  Consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail for XP: http://explore.live.com/windows-live-mail-xp

Or even better, try something like Thunderbird: http://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird/

TulsaRose, I'm not sure what you mean.  The OP said right at the start that the program was Outlook Express.  All email clients have an "Outbox"...  My posts above were intended to clarify, not to insult or offend you, but I do apologise if they seemed in any way hurtful.

All efforts at assistance are appreciated; just sometimes careful guidance is needed to ensure we're focussing on the correct aspects of a problem.
