Computer hanging problem

I have a big problem in my computer. its often hanging while system starts up and while installing softwares.

I have 2gb ram
intel dual core
mercury motherboard PIG41L

When you say "hanging" do you me in just stalls?

Freezing, or hanging as you put it. This can be a sign of Overheating, Spyware, or Windows been corrupted. Whats it like when you boot using safe mode?
