    Video Card Update Issue
    « on: January 08, 2012, 02:41:16 PM »
I have a ATI X1300 PCI VGA/DVI video card in my gaming pc. Thing is that there is an updated, I downloaded the driver from the site ran it an said that it couldnt find the driver that was installed.  I uninstalled an reinstalled the driver that came with it an then tried updateing.  I still had the same issue.  This is the issue "setup wasnt able to find the componets installed on your current hardware or software config. Make sure that its for you current hardware or software"  I ran the automatic tool an am getting a wierd issue from that as well.  I dont have what it is right off though.

Some people may disagree, but I often treat drivers a lot like the BIOS. If it is working with no problems, then don't update it, because you will often run into more problems trying to update. That said, I think you should go into device manager and remove the driver and just install the old one again (unless you were having a problem with the old one that you failed to mention in your post).

What version of window do you have?

You don't get your drivers from there, you get it from the manufacturer's site. I have a suspicion you are just Fing with us.

I am referring to the manufacturer of your comp's board (not Microsoft). That is where you download the drivers. (Of course, you can occasionally find good drivers on Softpedia too, but that's beside the point)

Sorry if you really didn't understand.

When you say "the main site" is this what you're talking about?

The latest driver for the ATI Radeon X1300, was released on 2/24/2010. Is that the one you're wanting?
