    Media file copy problem
    « on: January 14, 2012, 10:51:12 PM »
i have downloaded a movie recently. its about 4.5Gb in size. it can be copied from one partition to another partition of same hard disk. but it's not copying to any u.s.b. drive or another hard drive. when i try to copy it shows "the disk in the destination is full" but the drive is completely formatted & there is far more space than 4.5gb.
HOW CAN I OVERCOME THIS PROBLEM????????????

    Welcome!

    What OS are you using?
What is the size of your USB drive? Is it 8GB or larger?  Is it NTFS?
Are you trying to copy just the file or the folder that contains the file.
It makes a difference.  There may be hidden files.

Max file size on FAT32 file system is 4294967295 bytes (1 byte less than 4 GB). Any attempt to create a larger file gives the message you mention even though free space is there. To enable lartger file size format the device with NTFS file system. However afterwards drive may not be compatible with certain media players, DVD players, TVs, etc.
