Proxy server activation
« on: September 13, 2005, 01:42:42 AM »
How do I prevent my Lan Settings(proxy Server) from activating while I am surfing the internet.
I am the sole operator  of my computer therefor  I am not networking. When I first turn on the computer and check the Internet options/Lan Settings the Proxy Servers is unmarked. Internet Explorer works normally and I can change web sites  until the  computer hangs up and I receive the   "this page cannot be shown----" message.
When I check the Internet Option/Lan Settings again  the Proxy  Server has now been changed and is marked. Unmarking the Proxy Server  allows me to use the internet. I am getting tired of the resetting. Can someone offer a solution to my problem?

Are the fields filled out?

If yes, does this concern a known proxy server?

Everyone is networking when connected to the Internet.
