    problem installing win 7
    « on: January 28, 2012, 11:03:21 AM »
I am trying to do a clean install of win 7 and have wiped the drive and installed system files for win98 when I go into setup in dos it says scanning the registry and reboots immediately instead of doing the scan. Please help I have a pentium 4 an old one an no operating system as of yet, I tried to boot from cd by changing the bios booting sequence but no luck there either just says "missing operating system" Thanks.

Why do you need Win98 to install 7 ? ?

Also that old PC is probably gonna struggle with 7.

Be more realistic in asking that PC what you want it to do.

I have plenty of ram 2 gigs and have had windows 7 on it before and it runs fine. I am installing windows 98 so I can lay down xp over that and finally windows 7 over that.
