windows explorer not responding...

hi to all,
 i have win xp sp2. im my computer when i try to copy a file the explorer not responding (known by task manager)
 then mannually make end task (the explorer.exe) then its normal . why this happening every time what is cause

What protection apps do you have and when's the last time you updated and ran them ? ?
