What are the system requirements for the game?

    Processor:

        AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core 4000+ or better
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz or better
        Operating System:
Windows XP Service Pack 3 or later

    RAM:

        Windows XP: 1.5GB RAM
Windows Vista and Windows 7: 2GB RAM

Note: PCs using a built-in graphical chipset are recommended to have 2GB of RAM.

Star Wars: The Old Republic requires a video card that has a minimum of 256MB of on-board RAM as well as support for Shader 3.0 or better. Examples include:

        ATI X1800 or better
        nVidia 7800 or better
Intel 4100 Integrated Graphics or better

DVD-ROM drive – 8x speed or better (required for installation from physical editions only) Internet connection required to play.

As it stands your PSU has nothing to do with it. Why would it?

That is not right, so re-check that, there are no 800mhz CPU's with a quad core.

      64bit What?

The card is basic at best when it comes to on board graphics. It can handle some old games and basic new ones. Other than that... your punching well above your weight.

I would suggest a dedicated GPU... May be a Radeon HD card or something.

Brand new - so guide away! I have just installed dual monitors for work-hoping I could view two excel spread sheets at once, but doesn't seem to work that away.  Looking for tips, suggestions, or adivce.

Star Wars Old Republic requires a GDDR3 graphic card minimum
Your GDDR2 is outdated for this game

If you take a look on my topic here:
              http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,127386.0/all.html

I just upgraded my graphic card... you'll have a good idea.

It depend on your budget, but you should get a 1GB GDDR5 graphic card. And the cheapest one is the nVidia GT440. Or the ATI Radeon 6770
XFX makes good ATi Radeon graphic cards (according to RAPTOR), and ASUS makes good nVidia graphic cards.
They both should be compatible with your computer. But to make sure, you HAVE to give your motherboard model
But if you have an 8GB RAM, and a 64bits operating system, that's more likely that your motherboard is compatible with PCI express 2.0

But upgrading that Graphic card, means that you have to get a 600W power supply

I dunno, i'm a bit of a SW fanatic I'm not to ashamed to admit it... but to buy a new PSU, then a GPU, cross my fingers my Motherboard is good to go, then buy a copy of the Game, then set up a monthly subscription may stretch my obssession with all things SW to its breaking point... it just seems so crazy considering my computer isn't that old that I need all those things to play a game already... maybe I should just stick to my console gaming

has anyone played SWTOR... does it live up to the highest standards of the original trilogy?

I wouldn't advise trying to upgrade your card to something powerful with the off-brand PSU that will be in your system.
Something like a Radeon 6670 would be about the best you can do without pushing your PSU's limits, but it won't be great for gaming )it will still be a vast improvement over your onboard though).
                Hope this helps.
