    « on: February 11, 2012, 02:39:32 PM »
    Hi guys,
    I have an Acer Aspire 5920g running on w7 ultimate 32 b intel (r) core(TM)2 duo CPU - T7300
    it keeps freezing up randomly.
    I have noticed a pattern: event 7036
Can you please help me understand how to solve the problem?
Why does it freeze up? Can I fix it?
Each freeze up is 15 to 25 secs long :/
please reply in very very basic language as i am no expert.
    thanks
    g.

    1) What is new or different since the last time everything worked properly (ie, new hw, new sw, virus, error, etc)?

    2) Does it freeze in safe mode?

    3) Have you run full scans with BOTH your anti virus app and with MalwareBytes? If not, please do so now.

Problem began to appear shortly after purchase of pc, though it was rarer(like once every 2-4 days... Then progressively became more frequent to the actual  2-4 times daily). I was using the preinstalled factory Vista and since it was in its early days and it was being criticised left right and centre i assumed it was an os prob. Did not use this pc for about a year and then i had a friend install the actual w7.
Problem is still there. It was there from start really though, despite new os, it seems to be getting worse...
I have run on many occasion malwarebytes' progr. And antiv. Both in safe mode with no findings whatsoever...
I have never used safe mode long enough totest it. I normally scan and leave. Do you think i should use the pc in safe mode for a longer time? Can i use it to watch video, surf net etc...?

What antivirus? The event 7036 shows an article pertaining to McAfee.
