Blocked from web site by owner?
« on: September 15, 2005, 08:40:38 PM »
My husband had his account closed at a Christian forum called TalkJesus.com.  But the problem is I can't access the website anymore.  It comes up "Page cannot be displayed."  My internet is working fine, only that website won't come up.  I called my sister and she had no problem accessing the site.  I think the computer owner may have somehow blocked my computer from getting onto the site, and I think it was done cause the site owner has my IP address.
Is there any way to get around this?

Thanks!

Dawn

since you have posted in that forum, the forum adminstrator has noted your ip address , and blocked
you , for any reason , for accesssing their site.

    This is one reason.

If this cannot be the case, then i can not tell about other
    reasons.

if you contact them through email you can tell the story to them so that they can see over it.

Dawn Reinas..... You must have violated some rule .....LOL ........according to what I saw there the owner can do whatever they wish ......and refuse anyone they wish.
I picked this warning off the site .

"Warning: If you send any emails that are spam, offending, against Christianity or anything I simply find offending, you will face your consequences. Every action of yours is recorded and logged. For those who hate Christianity and Jesus, I do not care about your views or opinion so please save your time or waste it elsewhere. Your IP address is logged (proxy / anonymizers are ineffective here at Talk Jesus, so think twice). You will be dealt with legally if necessary. "

If you really want to go there, I would use another pc and Email the owner and inquire as to why you have been blocked ..........
It might also be prudent to be certain the problem isnt with your pc .

If you don't know the answer, it isn't a dumb question.

Of course if they realise it's you they can also block the proxy server or it may already be blocked so then you would have to search for another one.

My husband didn't violate any rules.  We posted a Christian teaching (we posted it by the rules).  Then My husband went ahead and posted a continuation of my teaching.  The owner of the website disagreed with the teaching and the next thing ya know.....bang, my husband's account was closed and so was mine.  I've seen the owner of the site do this to others before when it was completely uncalled for....I guess it was just our turn.

I was trying to get back in and see what he did with my teachings, I have no way of emailing the owner because all emails were done through the site's "private message" feature.  I could only have gotten his email address if I downloaded the vcard off the site.

I appreciate everyone's help.  I guess I can try the proxy server thing.  I'm not going back on the site to cause trouble or anything, he may not even know, cause all I wanna do is check out my teachings and see if they are still there.

I will attempt the proxy server....I should've taken computer courses in school  :D

Description of the Internet Explorer Repair Tool

As soon as you connect to a website, the website can see your IP adress. This is normal.

If you feel you have been banned for unjust reasons, contact the administrator but do not supply him with your IP adress unless absolutely necessary.

A proxy is a last resort - it is rather troublesome to find a good and fast (or a working) proxy.
