Tablets and retricted access to markets
    « on: February 18, 2012, 03:45:00 AM »
My impression is that if you buy an iPad you're limited to buying products from Apple.  If you buy a Kindle you have to buy from Amazon.  If you buy a Nook you must buy from Barnes and Noble.  For example, if you own a Nook you can't buy and download a book from Amazon.
Please correct this if I'm wrong or expand on how this works.
But what if you buy an Android tablet (Samsung, Lenavo, Asus, etc.).  Can you buy apps to enable  you to buy from Apple, Amazon and B&N?  If so, this seems a huge selling point for Android tablets, and this is what I'll buy.
Any input from someone more knowledgeable than I (everyone) will be appreciated.

Many apps on Apple are also available on Android so I don't see it as a problem, but I prefer Android because it has more free Apps.
