You can make any resource
read-only. Files and folders can be marked to that others may see them and get them, but never change or deleted them. That is called
read-only.
Do .you want to:
Share files with[people in your house or next door?
Share files with people hundreds of miles away?
Have it available 24 hours a day?
Will you leave your computer on all the time?
Have it only when you day so?
You may wish nto investigate 'cloud computing'. Thais is a way to share materiel with others with restrictions that you specify. But you do not have to be at home and your commuter does not have to be on. Some places have free accounts, others change a modest fee. (There is always some kind of catch.)
As for FTP, I could set up an account with you. But there are two problems.
1. CH has a dim view
of doing business on this forum.
2. I am not very reliable. My site might crash at anytime.
