RCA to VGA adapter?
« on: April 14, 2012, 06:12:49 PM »
Hello to all.

I am curious to how i can make an adapter to watch vidio from a RCA (the Yellow, red and white labeled cable) on a vga monitor.
I am curious due to the reason that i have a monitor laying around and don't want to buy a TV.

Is this pin-compatable?? and is there a page out there i have missed?? because i have been looking with no success for a while now.
I consider myself a hacker. Not in the way of "I can break into your facebook" but in the way, I like to learn as much as I can, about anything i can. I don't just like having things fixed, I like to understand why it was broken and why a particular solution fixed it. It is just how I am, and how I will always be. As teachers have said before, you cant learn if you don't figure it out in your own mind.

Yes, a DVD player, like the older ones without the Y/Pr/Pb or whatever it is.

Look  this over and see if it is what your need:
TV Video RCA to PC VGA Converter Adapter Switch Box with Free Power Supply
Ir boots the signal level so that you have a better picture. It does NOT do anything to then audio. You have to get a separate audio cable.
I have one like it ans it works, but not really great. Just OK.
