External HDD don't show any document files
    « on: May 01, 2012, 05:48:40 PM »
    HI,
I made the HDD from my dead PC external. When I crank it up and view what is there I don't find any documents, word, or excel listed.  Folders that were on the desktop are not there either. Did I do something wrong or are these not available?

This problem has been talked about before.
I have the same problem. The solution was that I could not use some drives in the USB adapter if that came from a desktop. And the other way also. When a drive was formatted with the USB deice.I had ton use it that way. And sometimes one way and not  the other. Gives me heartburn.

This does not always happen. So it is hard to find the exact reason why.

Amway, put the drive in the desktop and it will work. Consider getting decent USB to Hard Drive adapters; Not those cheap ones from eBay.
