If it's Yahoo Gmail etc have him check their Spam folders...

Thks, patio but he uses Incredimail (as I do) and Spam Filtering is a paid option which we do not have.

Password Manager in FireFox...

patio, you'll have to enlighten me. The password is known, as is the username and the two email addresses. What am I missing here?

You're missing the fact that the password may not be what he remembers it to be...
It happens...

OK . I can appreciate that. But besides having it memorized , having it written down (twice), and the fact that at each login, Firefox does automatically login him in, what else can one do?. He's totally convinced that the password is not the problem. He has up until his attempting to up date his email address had automatic login work perfectly.  He's absolutely convinced that the conflict is a result of the email addresses and that is the message that is continually conveyed. Even now, when he is not able to login ( 2 PC's) he has manually used the password that has worked for him since he joined CH on both.
Message received at each attempt at login is "need another activation email"?

This was a crazy ordeal. The activation emails that I requested were going somehow (don't ask me how and if anyone knows ,please explain) into a Junk folder that I never even seen before. There were definitely not anywhere in my usual email clients.

Here's what happened;
Because I couldn't login with either my old email address or my new address I got desperate and went for a new email address in "Hotmail" in order to start over from scratch. I had never used Hotmail previously (and probably won't again) so why the messages were going there (only)and why I decided to go to Hotmail is still a mystery to me. I did keep checking my "Junk" folders in Windows Live Mail and Incredimail to see if they were there. Nothing, only Hotmail. Anyway,once I did find the messages (27 of them, my requests for an activation email from the "Computer Hope Team" ) and after some fooling around with their directions, "presto" I was back again. Whew !  overthehill

Because I never use/d Yahoo Gmail etc. I didn't think that would apply. Didn't know that (etc.) could be Hotmail either. I just got lucky.

Thanks again, glad to be back.  overthehill
